Welcome!
I will start our story from the beginning, documenting our journey from the birth of our boys on November 13, 1996 to the present. Matthew and Mitchell were born at 32 weeks gestation, two months premature. Matthew was 3 lbs, 11 oz. and Mitchell was a whopping 4 lbs, 2 oz. Both had a lack of oxygen to their brains initially and needed blow-by-blow oxygen immediately after birth. Mitchell also had bleeding on his brain. They spent about a month in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They needed to learn how to suck so they could eat and their bodies needed to be able to regulate their body temperature and breathing. Their first experiences in this world were complicated. Thankfully, they are here with us today. We are so blessed.
